IHE North American Connectathon Offers Unique Opportunity

HIMSS

Developers of health IT systems along with standards experts gather in Chicago each year to take part in the largest interoperability testing event in the industry—the IHE North American (NA) Connectathon. This year’s event, Jan. 28-Feb. 2, 2013, is sponsored byIHE USA and in collaboration with IHE Canada. Connectathon participants test system interoperability and conformance to IHE Profiles – standards-based specifications for meeting real-world healthcare needs.
System registration for the Connectathon is open through Oct. 5. Nine IHE domains will be offered for testing this year; additionally, the Consolidated CDA® standard developed by Health Story Project in collaboration with HL7 and IHE, will be available for testing for the first time! The proposed requirement for Consolidated CDA® as part of Stage 2 Meaningful Use has accelerated efforts toward its adoption and the resulting need for testing to validate CDA content with IHE integration profiles at the IHE Connectathon. Health Story Project’s Consolidated CDA® registration opens today. Visit IHE USA’s website to learn more about the NA Connectathon registration process and fees ordownload the IHE Policies & Guidelines online.
