Debate on Free e-Health Software

Generales

Organized by the NGO GNU Solidario and sponsored by Thymbra, the 1st National e-Health Conference will be held in Argentina as part of the 3rd International Free Software Conference. Experts from Europe and Latin America will meet in the city of Buenos Aires to exchange experiences and debate strategy for public administrations and governments in the adoption of Free Software for Public Healthcare, so that everyone can have access to quality healthcare.

The event seeks to promote Free Software as one of the main pillars of a sustainable framework for providing e-health and education for emerging economies.

‘The conference goes beyond the purely technical level. We’re going to discuss the tools that we can offer today to professionals and institutions. The issues for debate will include: Free Software in the Healthcare Sector; e-Health in Public Healthcare; and The Need for Free Standards in e-Health. GNU Solidario’s working focus is on the provision of healthcare and education with Free Software, which is fundamental for the development and dignity of society. In the next few weeks we will be publishing the event program.

Entry is free and open to all but requires prior registration at the association website.

Furthermore, there is space for anyone wishing to give a brief talk at the event. Proposals should be sent to GNU Solidario.
