Information Technology Stands Out at Hospitalar 2013

Here, we present some of the new products that were exhibited at the fair.  

PHILIPS

The pioneering integrated solutions company brought equipment that can facilitate patient transitions from hospital to home care. They also presented integrated solutions for Intensive Care Units. “Philips connectivity and systems integration solutions can improve the rate of correct diagnoses,” said SolangePlebani, director of Philips Clinic Informatics. Furthermore, through TASY management software connected to equipment, Philips offers solutions for the entire patient care cycle.

CARESTREAM

With Robert Eisenbraum as its CEO, the company has invested in the digital capture segment with the launch of an X-Ray diffraction line. This is the only system in the mobile X-Ray industry that can offer real X-Rays on wheels. In the pediatric version, the detector has a smaller form factor and is designed to be highly efficient in the sensitive tests needed in pediatric radiology.   

SIEMENS

At the latest edition of Hospitalar, Siemens’ healthcare sector exhibited its latest imaging diagnosis equipment. CirioVianaJúnior, the brand’s sales manager, informed us that two new products were launched on the market this month: the P300, a multi-disciplinary high frequency mobile ultrasound scanner for different specialties; and ACUSON Free Style, which is the first wireless ultrasound scanner on the mobile telephone market that makes it possible to obtain high definition images. 

ZEBRA

At its stand, Zebra exhibited printers with accessories, software and high quality services. The IMZ, for example, is a portable printer that is compatible with the IOS operating system on smartphones and tablets. The HC100, according to Danilo Fukushima, the Sales Engineer at the company, is the bestselling product in the wristband printers market, and is also one of the fastest.

SBIS

Marcelo Silva, Executive Director at SBIS (the Brazilian Health IT Society) received visitors at his institution’s stand and spoke about advances in the area of Health IT. Silva emphasized the arrival of international companies to Brazil and SBIS’ role in the growth of the healthcare software sector in the country. 

TOTVS

The company, which currently administers 9700 beds with its healthcare solutions, presented its biggest new healthcare software product on the second day of the fair. Nelson Pires, Segment Director, said that TOTVS is currently one of the biggest developers of integrated management systems (ERP).

ALERT

Luiz Brescia, Managing Director of Alert in Brazil, received visitors at the company stand and said that the company had been specializing in the mobile area. Its biggest new product this year is the Home Visit solution, conceived and designed especially for the Brazilian healthcare system. ALERT® Home Visit will help to make the work of community healthcare agent (ACS) more flexible, allowing them to simplify their home visits to members of the community.  

ITMS 

The world leader in telemedicine services presented its technologies for remote diagnosis in several different areas. RuiterDiniz, the commercial representative, received visitors to the stand and presented its equipment for homecare such as RTX, which remotely monitors parameters such as glucose levels, blood pressure and weight and sends the patient data directly to their doctor. 

HOME MEDICINE

An innovative mobile shower system developed especially for patients with reduced mobility was one of the new products presented by Home Medicine. Eugenio Magaldi, the brand’s marketing manager, emphasized how easy the new model is to transport. And in the IT area the company presented its Tech Tracing System which can be controlled online. 

MV

With over 200 thousand users, MV Trouxe presented its Soul MV solution, a complete hospital management platform for health plans and public health systems. The system integrates different solutions that make it possible to respond efficiently and flexibly to all the information management needs of a healthcare institution. Ericka Melo, a marketing analyst at the company, noted that the platform uses digital certification to eliminate the need to print out and physically store documents.  

UP TO DATE

The launch of Up to Date, from Wolters Kluwer Health, promises to improve the quality of medical care, says Eduardo Melo, Sales Director for Latin America. The executive explained that it is an experience exchange tool that will revolutionize the medical sector in the development of diagnoses and treatments. 

TO LIFE

José Renato Carvalho, Commercial Director of To Life, presented its Triage Trius at the company stand, a nationally patented technology that ensures that clinical decisions are recorded automatically without errors. The security of the process is based on the biometric data of the healthcare professionals. 

FUJIFILM

At the Fujifilm stand, visitors were presented with the latest advances in Synapse Pacs, a system developed entirely using web technology. The product is designed to meet the needs of the Brazilian market and can be used anywhere via mobile devices.
