One of the strategies that has had the greatest impact on the Chilean healthcare sector is the Information System of the Care Network (SIDRA), implemented by the Ministry of Health to improve overall care for public service users through the use of digital technology.

For that reason, Chilean Healthcare Administration, the incorporation of the Shared Single Health Record and the Electronic Health Record will all have a space at ExpoHospital 2013, at the stands, events, talks, meetings and conferences.

The Exchange of Clinical Information is Possible

The ability to exchange clinical information in real time is one of the most distinctive aspects of the SIDRA initiative, as it shows that the exchange of information is not just a utopian ideal.

One of the companies that focuses on IT Services in the realm of Medical IT and that supports the government’s strategy is Saydex, a company that will exhibit its innovations and tools aimed at the area of Medical IT at the International Exhibition of Technologies, Products and Services for Hospitals and Clinics.

Towards the Optimization of Healthcare Services

The incorporation of the Electronic Health Record, for example, has allowed for improvements in patient care, cost reduction, rationalization of resources and more efficient spending for both administrators and officials in the sector and patients.

For its part, the implementation of the Single Health Record has led to the reduction of certain risks, such as adverse reactions to medications, improvement in clinical information for decision making and the end of duplicated prescriptions and tests.

The achieve this progress, the Chilean Healthcare Authorities and the establishments that belong to the Care Networks have several different support systems for clinical and administrative management in the Primary Care Health Network. Currently, more than 400 establishments fall under the remit of RAYEN (Care Network and National Connections). This tool is provided by Saydex; a company that won the ICT Business Innovation Prize for the development, implementation and operation of the National Immunization Registry, currently used by the more than 2000 public and private entities that provide vaccinations to the Chilean population.
