New Appointment Administration System Implemented for Hospitals in Viedma

From August 26th, the Ministry of Health of Rio Negro will implement a new appointment administration system at public hospitals. A pilot program for the system will be installed at the Artémides Zatti Hospital, in Viedma.

At first, the system will make it possible to obtain appointments over the internet or at Primary Care Centers. But it will also, once the patient has been attended, allow them to leave the Hospital with an appointment booked for their next visit.

The Director of the Zatti Hospital, Alberto Lucio, confirmed that the prior assessments of the functioning of the system will take place on August 19th, when appointments will not be made.

“Currently, appointments are being made every 15 days, so we will take this time to anticipate any difficulties that might arise,” explained the Director of the Viedma Care Service. And he added: “When it is fully up and running, the hospital administration system will provide benefits both for users of the Healthcare System and the professionals working in it.”

Professionals will be able to better manage their agenda on their office computer: once they have attended the patient they will arrange the appointment for the next visit.

The new system will also be able to administer electronic health records, which can be consulted from anywhere in the provincial public hospital network.

Finally, the software will also make it possible for hospital pharmacies to become informatized, recording the nomenclature for all medications, along with their lot number and expiry date, vastly improving their traceability.
