IBM and CVS to create a Health Informatics System

Seeking to help support treatment of chronic diseases, the companies IBM and CVS have teamed up to build an informatics database that will bring together health records and pharmaceutical, medical and environmental information.

This new tool will feature analysis and prediction technology from the Watson Health Cloud, an IBM mobile application platform that combines all the user’s health information via different devices.

The service that the companies will create will be made available to healthcare insurers and service providers as the objective of the tool is to predict patients’ health, encourage them to live a healthier lifestyle and find more cost-effective healthcare providers.  

INFO: this system is designed to support the treatment of people with chronic diseases such as hypertension, diabetes, obesity and cardiac problems, among others.
