Parsalud and the Regional Government of Huánuco have presented a new telehealth network in Peru. It is a circuit of 18 healthcare establishments connected to each other in order to strengthen the service in the Huánuco area.

The initiative will see 17 primary healthcare and a hospital connected to the Hospital Regional Hermilio Valdizán, which will function as the consultancy center and interact in turn with the Instituto Nacional Materno Perinatal (INMP).

The training necessary to implement this tool will be provided by the INMP, which will also provide technical support to staff at the Hospital Valdizán in the use of the prototype for the informatics devices.

Luis Meza Santibañez, Head of the Training Unit at the INMP; Alfredo Centurión Vargas, Regional Healthcare Director; María Salcedo Zúñiga, Executive Director of People’s Health; Walter Vigo Valdéz, General Coordinator of Parsalud; and Freddy Aramburú García, Coordinator of Telehealth at Parsalud, launched the system via teleconference.
