The Foundation for the Struggle Against Childhood Neurological Diseases (FLENI) and the Municipality of San Miguel have committed to the incorporation of telemedicine at the Dr. Raúl Larcade Municipal Hospital. To do that, they have signed a cooperation agreement.
Joaquín de la Torre, community leader in San Miguel, said: “The importance of this agreement, bearing in mind FLENI’s track record in healthcare, ensures the highest quality standards with regard to advanced medicine”.
In order to support urgent decision making, scheduled check-ups and second opinions, the service to be implemented will allow professionals to consult each other at different care centers that treat patients with neurological pathologies.
So, staff at the Lacarde Hospital will be able to share diagnoses with the FLENI Vascular Neurology Service, where a specialized center will manage remote consults.
The telemedicine platform that will make the interaction possible will be based on a web portal where demographic information will be entered and transmitted along with a specific electronic health record page for the type of consult and the images from the patient’s scans. It will also be integrated with the FLENI Electronic Health Record and allow the care process to be recorded electronically as well as real-time consults via video conference.
Thus, the Buenos Aires hospital will have a system to provide remote medical information and services.
