Using tele-care and telemedicine, Telefónica connects patients and professionals through electronic tools such as tablets, smartphones and biomedical and localization devices.
But these instruments are also capable of making a contribution to the management of institutions with diagnosis through Centralized Medical Images, for example –a solution implemented at the Sanatorio Americano in Uruguay.
According to Raúl Urrutigoity, Head of eHealth Latam at Telefónica Digital, healthcare companies in Spain, the United Kingdom, Argentina, Chile, Colombia, Peru, and Uruguay are already using these services.
In Uruguay, Telefónica has three products on this platform: medical imaging management, which maximizes centralization of diagnosticians and medical images, demand management, which improves the coordination of medical appointments and tests; and management of chronic patients, which helps to provide suitable specialized care and tele-monitoring for patients at risk without any need for them to go to a care center.
