The Regional Hospital of Comodoro Rivadavia, Chubut, has incorporated a state of the art digital X-Ray Machine that can digitalize test results.
“We aim to digitalize the entire diagnostic process for each patient, not just tomograms, X-Rays, ultrasounds, and mammograms but also clinical tests so that soon doctors will have a patient’s entire health record at their fingertips,” said Roberto Romero, the Director of Physical Resources at the healthcare institution.
In addition, Romero stated that 360 degree testing makes it possible to see whether a patient has internal fractures in their thorax or if an organ is damaged, for example, via different images provided from a single X-Ray scan.
“This is a state of the art X-Ray machine, the equipment has a weighted table that makes it possible to turn it remotely without needing to move the patient, which is a big help in cases with patients with multiple traumas. In addition X-ray scans can be taken in series, providing different angles and views of patients,” he explained.
He also noted that the equipment guarantees the fidelity of the image with a zoom that expands the radiographic spectrum for doctors.
“Digitalizing the images allows doctors to study them over the Internet wherever they are, without needing to be in the same room in the hospital,” Romero emphasized.
The equipment that the Regional Hospital received in the first week of December is already in use.
