The Hospital Evangélico de Londrina in the Brazilian state of Paraná, which has been running for more than 60 years, has just signed a contract with IBM Brazil to update their IT department.
The project consists of the installation of the Storwize V7000 IBM product to replace the system used currently being used.
It is estimated that once the project is finished the Hospital’s applications will increase their performance by 30%.
With ambitious goals to increase the number of patients being attended over the next few years, the institution knew that it needed to prioritize the restructuring of the IT area given that the hospital’s procedures, already highly automated, needed to be even more efficient in order to support the day to day work involving employees, doctors and patients. The product chosen combines functions previously only available to high-end systems such as the virtualization of storage infrastructure, thin provisioning and an interactive graphic interface.
The project is one of the first involving the Storwize V7000 in Brazil. This IT solution, even though it was recently released, has already received the iF Product Design Award given by iF Industrie Design Forum, which recognizes the Storwize V7000’s market-leading in innovation, design and functionality.
