The National Traceability System (SNT) seeks to ensure the monitoring and tracking of medications sold in Argentina. 18 provinces in the country have joined up with the regulation strategy.
Seeking to make progress with the incorporation of Entre Rios into the SNT, the Minister of Provincial Health, Hugo Cettour took part in a meeting with Maximiliano Derecho, the Director of Healthcare Product Vigilance at the National Administration of Medications, Foods and Medical Technology (ANMAT); Ricardo Pastre, Undersecretary of Care Services and Administration; and Karina Muñoz, the Director of Medical Care.
“Entre Rios joining the traceability system will ensure the effective control of medications and help to take illegitimate ones that pose a risk to people’s health out of circulation,” said the head of the provincial healthcare portfolio.
Derecho emphasized that with regard to medications, ANMAT’s objective is to include all the relevant actors within the national traceability system. He stated that the organization will work with Entre Rios to include the province in the state scheme for controlling and distributing medications.
Incorporation into the SNT
Entre Rios is one of the seven Argentinian provinces that have not yet signed up to the National Traceability System. However, Hugo Cettour stated that the province now has a project on the table to secure its incorporation.
Maximiliano Derecho concluded: “The idea is to cooperate with the data and information that is needed for the process and to do everything necessary to implement the system at a provincial level.”
