Gestión de Salud

In its official bulletin, the Autonomous Community of Cantabria has announced a trilateral agreement with the Ministry of Health, Social Services and Equality and the public business entity Red.es to implement the use of Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) in its healthcare system.

The Digital Agenda for Spain program, approved by the Council of Ministers on February 15, 2013, includes the development of electronic prescriptions and healthcare cards within the healthcare environment.

The objective of the agreement is to expand the use of these technologies and begin to implement electronic health records in the National Health System.

The actions to be implemented will seek to guarantee the electronic prescription of medications to those citizens who request a drug within an Autonomous Community other than their habitual residence.

Official resolution 2015-8112 establishes that the necessary tasks for the implementation of ICTs must be completed before December 31 2015.

With regard to the financing of the project, the sum to be invested for each aspect is 170,678 euros.

The agreement was signed by Rubén Moreno Palanques, Secretary General for Healthcare and Consumption; César Miralles Cabrera, Director General of Red.es; and María José Sáenz de Buruaga Gómez, Health and Social Security Councilor.
