La Conferencia y Exhibición Anual de HIMSS Latin America vuelve a desembarcar en San Pablo, Brasil, con el objetivo de discutir cómo los servicios de salud pueden mejorar a través del uso efectivo de la tecnología.
Esta segunda edición, organizada en asociación con ABCIS, se llevará a cabo el 4 y 5 de noviembre de 2015. El fin del encuentro es coordinar una hoja de ruta estratégica a nivel regional para mejorar la calidad asistencial a través de tecnologías de la información y la comunicación (TIC). Para esto, un panel de líderes regionales debatirá cómo los gobiernos pueden apoyar el intercambio de información y reunir recursos para dar el gran salto hacia estas herramientas y ofrecer el mejor servicio de salud posible.
Los sistemas sanitarios tienen la gran presión en proveer cada vez más y mejor salud pero con menores costos. La única solución es convertirlos en más eficientes, lo que requiere sistemas TIC de clase mundial , expresa Jeremy T. Bonfini, vicepresidente ejecutivo de los Servicios Globales de HIMSS.
Durante las dos jornadas, distintas organizaciones sanitarias compartirán con la audiencia su progreso en la adopción del EMRAM (Electronic Médical Record Adoption Model).
Cybercriminalidad en Salud
La adopción de tecnologías de la información es sólo el primer paso. La seguridad y privacidad se está convirtiendo en un gran desafío para las organizaciones de salud , señala André Luiz Almeida, presidente de ABCIS.
La cybercriminalidad -como el fraude de seguros, pagos y los robos de identidad- está creciendo a ritmo alarmante. Por esta causa, HIMSS Latin America organizó el primer Campo de Entrenamiento en Cyberseguridad, que preparará a los directores médicos para combatir estos delitos. En esta sesión, se presentarán los resultados de la primera encuesta sobre Cyberseguridad Latinoamericana.
Lisa Gallagher, vicepresidente de Soluciones Tecnológicas de HIMSS, está trabajando con diferentes hospitales para detener los crímenes informáticos y disertará como oradora acerca de las últimas defensas contra los cyberatacantes.
Premio Innovación Sanitaria
Por primera vez en la historia, en el marco de HIMSS Latin America se entregará el Premio Innovación Sanitaria. Para aplicar al galardón podrán concursar prácticas innovadoras y herramientas mHealth, que serán evaluadas por representantes de organizaciones sanitarias y gubernamentales.

The Annual HIMSS Latin America Conference and Exhibition returns to Sao Paulo, Brazil with the objective of discussing how healthcare services can be improved via the effective use of technology.
This second edition, organized in association with ABCIS, will be held on November 4th and 5th 2015. The purpose of the event is to coordinate a strategic road map for the region to improve the quality of healthcare through information and communication technologies (ICTs). To do this, a panel of regional leaders will debate how governments can support the exchange of information and gather resources so as to make the big leap to using these tools and offering the best possible healthcare service.
Healthcare systems are under great pressure to provide more and better healthcare but at a lower cost. The only solution is to make them more efficient, which requires world class ICT systems, says Jeremy T. Bonfini, the executive vice-president of Global Services at HIMSS.
During the event, different healthcare organizations will share their progress with adopting the EMRAM (Electronic Medical Record Adoption Model).
Cybercrime in Healthcare
The adoption of information technologies is just the first step. Security and privacy are becoming a major challenge for healthcare organizations, says André Luiz Almeida, President of ABCIS.
Cybercrime – such as insurance and payment fraud and identity theft – is growing at an alarming rate. For this reason, HIMSS Latin America has organized the first Cyber-Security Training Session, which will prepare medical directors to combat these threats. During the session, the results of the first survey of Latin American Cyber-security will be announced.
Lisa Gallagher, Vice-President of Technological Solutions at HIMSS, is working with different hospitals to stop informatics crimes and will give a presentation on the latest defenses against cyber-attackers.
Healthcare Innovation Award
For the first time, HIMSS Latin America will be venue for the delivery of the Healthcare Innovation Award. Innovators entering the award sent their innovative mHealth practices and tools for evaluation by healthcare and governmental representatives.
The award ceremony will be held during the official closing ceremony of the conference.
