Expanding HIMSS outreach into diverse communities is part of the Society s strategic plan. The Hispanic population is the largest minority in the United States, and in 2010 HIMSS authorized the establishment of a new HIMSS Latino Community to focus on health IT needs for the rapidly growing Hispanic/Latino market.
