Estimated at 16 percent today, by the year 2050, 30 percent of the U.S. population is projected to be Hispanic/Latino.
The HIMSS Latino Community is a complementary community of professionals for HIMSS members and will be led by a workgroup that is open to all HIMSS members who will meet monthly via teleconference. In addition, the workgroup plans to hold separate meetings organized by the co-chairs to work on special projects. The Community will work to foster information-sharing between members to strengthen networks and share new ideas on how health IT can be used to improve healthcare in the Latino Community.
