The Quirón Hospital Group Improves its Medical Communications System

The Quirón Hospital Group has chosen Telefónica as its technology supplier for corporate, mobile, voice and data communications at all its hospitals in Spain. The contract will last initially for 4 years and includes the provision of 200 mobile phone connections and the administration of 3600 voice lines.  

The agreement was signed in Barcelona by the Group’s Chief Executive, María Cordón, and the Director General of Telefónica in Catalonia, Kim Faura at a meeting also attended by the vice-president of the hospital group José Ramón Rubio. Also representing Telefónica were its director of Public Administrations and Companies in Catalonia, Lluis Castells, and its director of Public Administration, Mariano Yagüez.     

The contract also includes the outsourcing of the Data Processing Center (CPD) which will be managed by the telecommunications company from its Data Centers. Telefónica will thus provide a data and applications storage service as well as maximizing the confidentiality of data, optimizing computer administration processes and reducing costs.
