Given the flood of apps appearing in the healthcare environment, the Interactive Division of Global Healthcare has developed the Medical Apps Guide and the Patient Apps Guide, two applications which try to facilitate the selection of information and support both healthcare professionals and patients with the scientific rigor of a committee of experts.

This development was made possible thanks to an exclusive agreement between the agency and IDEMM, a company specialized in scientific and digital solutions in the medical/healthcare environment. The Medical Apps Guide will introduce Spanish doctors to the latest App releases in their professional environment in a flexible and simple way. With a simple download of the App (for iPhone, iPad and Android), professionals will receive periodic updates on the latest App releases in their specialty, accompanied by assessments of the utmost scientific rigor on their level of interest, made by a committee of experts. There is a specific App for each specialty which gathers, describes and updates the Apps that, in the editorial committee’s judgment, provide interesting features for clinical practice, teaching, treatment and patient care, research or surgery management. Global Healthcare is currently developing different areas such as Cardiovascular Treatment, Oncology, Diabetes, Neurology, Pediatrics, Respiratory Ailments, Dermatology, Primary Care and Pharmacology.

The Patient Apps Guide was designed to enable greater involvement in the self-treatment of diseases, improve their adhesion to treatment plans and diminish the frequency of medical consults. Said application, given to patients via their doctor, will allow access to the best ‘Healthcare’ Apps as previously selected and assessed by a committee of specialists. In related news, the British Government, via its Health Secretary Andrew Lansley, encouraged doctors in Great Britain to ‘prescribe Apps’ to smartphones to help patients monitor the status of diseases ranging from diabetes to depression. With these solutions, Global Healthcare and its partner IDEMM demonstrate once more their commitment to developing digital tools for marketing departments in the pharmacology and healthcare sectors.
