The coordinator of the health component of ECLAC @LIS2 participated in a telemedicine conference

On August 17 and 18 the Cartagena Telemedicine Conference 2012 was held, in which the situation of electronic health in the region was analyzed.

At the meeting, organized by the Colombian Telemedicine Centre with sponsorship from ECLAC @LIS2 (project co-funded by the European Union), specialists from PAHO and countries such as Brazil, Mexico, Colombia and Uruguay debated about national experiences in using this technology, future technical developments and regional use protocols.

The conference had Andrés Fernández, among its speakers, coordinator of the health component of ECLAC @LIS2. Mr. Fernández made a presentation about “Advances and challenges of electronic health in Latin America” and coordinated the workshop “Public policies following in Latin America”.

As part of the conference, an exposition about telemedicine technology and courses on hospital connectivity and military telemedicine were held.
