CEMA will open in Mar del Plata on Monday, 29th October

Generales

Also invited are the National and Provincial Health Ministers, Juan Manzur and Alejandro Collia, although their presence will depend on scheduling matters.

The Center for Mobile Medical Specialties (CEMA), was first mooted in 2008 as a tool to strengthen Centros de Atención Primaria de la Salud (Primary Healthcare Centers, CAPS) in the Municipality of General Pueyrredón and to improve mutual referencing between hospitals.

The CEMA project is based on principles of equity and improving the population’s access to healthcare, providing excellent healthcare services as part of the Primary Healthcare System Framework.

CEMA is a care center run by the Secretary for Health of the Municipality of General Pueyrredón. It will allow, through the allocation of specialized human and diagnostic resources, for better provision of healthcare between the primary and tertiary levels. This extra support will optimize the healthcare circuit for patients in the Public Sector, helping them to enter the Care System through CAPS. Finally, it will help, through the proper provision of resources throughout the healthcare services network, to organize supply by ordering and rationalizing the available supply structure.

Hippocrates’ Face

As the final touches are put to the Center of Mobile Medical Specialties (Cema), the front of the building already bears a distinctive artwork.

It is a depiction of Hippocrates, made with 5700 round pieces of plastic set into indentations into the metal panels on the main facade of the building. The work is by the illustrator Julián Assara.
