SEIS Gives Out the 19th National Health IT Awards 2013

The Spanish Society of Health Informatics (SEIS) has held the 19th edition of its National Awards for Health IT, which recognize the work of bodies, organizations and professionals who implement Information and Communication Technologies in Healthcare.

The ceremony was held at the end of last month at the Faculty of Medicine of the Universidad Autónoma de Madrid. The winners were:

Servei de Salut de les Illes Balears, National Health IT Award 2013 for the Public or Private Entity that has stood out for its implementation and use of Information and Communication Technologies in the Health Environment.

Sanitas – Servicio de Promoción de la Salud, National Health IT Award 2013 for the Organization that has made the greatest technological effort to develop solutions in the health environment.

Prof. José Luis Carrasco De La Peña, National Health IT Award 2013 to the Professional whose career and dedication have been especially focused on the implementation of Informatics in the health environment.

Centro para el Desarrollo Tecnológico Industrial (CDTI), National Health IT Award 2013 for institutional or staff effort into innovation and research projects that use Information and Communication Technologies in Healthcare.

D. Manuel Verdugo Páez – Servicio Canario de la Salud, National Health IT Award 2013 for the best contribution to SEIS activities during the last 12 months.

Consejería de Salud y Política Social del Gobierno de Extremadura, National Health IT Special Award 2013

D. Josep Mañach and the Campus de Excelencia Internacional “Andalucía Tech” received an Honorable Mention.

In recognition of the coordinated health circuit it presented in the last edition of INFORSALUD, CSC Healthcare won the National Health IT Award 2013 for Work promoting the implementation of ICTs.

Antonio Alonso, Director of the Latin American Business Unit in the Health Vertical at CSC received the award and noted that a great measure of the success of the company’s implementation projects in Latin America is due to its solid base of clients and successful experiences in Spain. In addition, he said that the company was committed to continuing its contribution to the development and improvement of healthcare through information and communication technologies.
