The 2nd Top Seeds & Pharma Talents Awards were announced at the Aula Magna of the Instituto de la Empresa de Madrid, Spain, on November 27, 2013.
The event featured Ignacio Macías, the CEO of Psyma Ibérica, who said: “Top Seeds Lab is an initiative that began two years ago and helps entrepreneurs launch start-ups. What better digital community to present these awards than Pharma Talents? We are looking for technology-based products in the healthcare sector that are in their early stages and can resolve problems that arise in the relationship between the doctor, pharmacist and/or patient. We are looking for projects that demonstrate great ambition. A clear parameter is that the project must be feasible for investment.”
Also present were Javier Burón, CEO of SocialBro; Ángel Díaz Alegre, CEO of iDoctus; and José Cabiedes, managing partner at Cabiedes & Partners.
Top Seeds Lab, a technology-based start-up business accelerator, and Pharma Talents, a social network for pharmaceutical industry and health sector professionals, will select the e-health related projects that are focused on expanding markets.
The winning project will receive 15,000 euros to finance its launch and also enter the Acceleration Program at Top Seeds Lab, which will provide a package of services – valued at 35,000 euros – including space at their offices in Madrid, mentoring, fundraising advice, legal services, financial services and hosting.
Furthermore, during the first five months of development, the winning project will have the support of noted experts to optimize their business plan and the growth of the company.
“The acceleration package will ensure that the project is optimized. Each mentor will help in every business area. Partners include Telefónica, with its ‘Talentum’ program, and they will support a developer to give their project more development muscle,” Macías said.
Projects may be presented until January 14, 2014.
