As part of its Competitiveness and Innovation Program, the European Commission is financing a project that seeks to encourage the adoption of common strategies to certify interoperability solutions in eHealth.
The objective of the initiative, called the Antilope Network, is to draw up and validate common technical guides and recommendations for the certification and labeling of solutions in the regional, national and continental environment.
According to information from the Regional Health Administration of Spain, different international organizations are working together to promote and encourage tools and tests for the adoption of eHealth in Europe.
The Health Portal of the government of Castilla y León (SACYL) has been developing an interoperability strategy based on applicable eHealth standards such as an editorial administration project for terminological resources and the development of an Electronic Health Record for Specialized Care.
Significant projects in the program include:
– The implementation of a single, definitive identifier for patients that cross-references information from users generated in the Primary and Specialized Care Departments.
– The centralization of the Electronic Health Record for Medora Primary Care, allowing access to the patient’s information regardless of the health center where they are being attended.
– The consolidation of data production centers.
– The installation of a server with terminologies as a coordinating element for information stored in different care device applications.
Currently in development is a single storage repository for clinical data which will contain all the relevant transversal patient information in standard international formats.
